By addressing musculoskeletal imbalances and misalignments, chiropractic adjustments help optimize the horse's performance, agility, and overall well-being on the polo field. Benefits of chiropractic care for polo horses include improved flexibility and range of motion, reduced risk of injury, enhanced coordination and balance, and increased comfort and responsiveness under saddle. Regular chiropractic sessions can also aid in maintaining optimal biomechanical function, allowing polo horses to perform at their peak level and prolonging their athletic careers. FAQ’S

  • Horse chiropractic care, also known as equine chiropractic, is a form of alternative therapy aimed at improving the structure and function of a horse's musculoskeletal system, particularly the spine and joints. It involves manual adjustment techniques performed by an AVCA certified chiropractor to restore proper alignment, relieve pressure on nerves, and promote overall wellness in the horse. By addressing structural shifts, chiropractic adjustments can enhance mobility, reduce pain, and optimize performance.

  • Several signs indicate that a horse may benefit from chiropractic care, including stiffness or reluctance to move, uneven gait, reduced performance, resistance to tack or grooming, behavioral changes, and muscle tension or soreness. Additionally, horses involved in athletic activities or those with repetitive strain injuries may particularly benefit from chiropractic adjustments to maintain optimal musculoskeletal health and prevent future issues.

  • When performed by a qualified and experienced practitioner, chiropractic care is safe for horses. Chiropractors trained in equine care understand the anatomy and biomechanics of horses, enabling them to apply techniques safely and effectively. However, as with any manual therapy, there may be some risks, such as temporary soreness or stiffness following an adjustment. It's essential to work with a reputable AVCA certified chiropractor who assesses the horse thoroughly, communicates effectively with the owner or handler, and tailors treatment to the individual horse's needs.

  • The frequency of chiropractic adjustments for horses depends on various factors, including the horse's age, health status, level of activity, and any underlying conditions. In general, horses may benefit from regular chiropractic maintenance appointments every 4 to 8 weeks to address minor misalignments and maintain optimal musculoskeletal health, especially for those involved in strenuous activities or competitions. However, the chiropractor will assess each horse individually and may recommend a personalized treatment schedule based on their specific needs and response to therapy. Regular communication between the owner, trainer, and chiropractor is essential to ensure the horse's well-being and performance goals are met.
